I was about to write the lyrics to "Sitting on the dock of the bay" as my intro..but then realized how off it was to my current moment. I wanted to convey the lazy feeling I have at the moment but then realized a.) it isn't even close to being summery outside (more on that later) and b.) there's no "waisting away" of me, unfortunately as "New Year's Diet" seems to have fizzed for the time being...as I drink my coffee with half and half and eat my buttered homemade pumpkin bread. The kids are in my bed watching Tom and Jerry (again). That's their fav. show by far at the moment. And it's something they can agree on to watch together. Caleb hasn't had school all week!! (They call it snow days, but really it's more like "If-the-secondary-roads-are-still-a-little-icy-in-the-morning days.") Don't get my wrong..I like when he's out. It's not like I have to go to work and find child-care. Oi.
So, it's off to the gym to hopefully "run" 3.5 miles with 0 incline on the cushy treadmill to continue my "training" for the Ukrops 10 K for which I signed up. (Notice I didn't end that sentence with a preposition? - Does that annoy anyone else? Does sound a bit awkward though, eh?)
The 10K will be held in Richmond on March 27. My cousin says it's nice and flat. She better be right!
On that note - my dog finally got her polyp removed yesterday!! Yayaay. And just about the time I was going to finally take her in, she somehow sprained her "wrist"?? So, she's all better now. $640 later...
Oh..and before I close...We're getting another snowstorm tomorrow (Fri) and into Saturday! A couple days ago the VDOT rumor was 15-30 inches?!?!? But now I think it's more like 9".
Stay tuned. I may be buried alive. Which means I'm off to the madhouse a.k.a Kroger.
